Ipswich Town have announced a pre-season friendly against West Ham. They say West Ham will visit Portman Road on the 4th of August with a 7:45pm kick-off.

I wonder if this announcement is related in any way to Ipswich boss Jim Magilton's saying this week that he wanted to buy Richard Wright? Sometimes a friendly might be thrown in when a club is trying to buy a player off a smaller club not the other way around. Perhaps this is a sign of West Ham's desperation to offload players - take one of our players off our hands and we'll throw in a friendly.
