Alan Pardew has confirmed that Charlton will not be making permanent moves for Paulo Monteiro or Dorian Smith after the duo's short-term contracts expired.Charlton boosted their defensive options with the capture of Portuguese centre-half Monteiro on a free transfer in early February.Monteiro, who has played alongside Addicks midfielder Jose Semedo for Portugal's U21 side, was a free agent having been released by Romanian outfit Farul Constanta. The 23-year-old played several games for Charlton's reserves last term after signing a contract until the end of the season.
