Blues battle Betis for Turkish midfielder

Rumour Mill: Everton and Real Betis are locked in a battle to secure Turkish international, Mehmet Aurelio, according to Marca but there is some confusion over who's winning.

It is believed the 30 year-old Brazilian-born midfielder, who played in all of the Turks' Euro 2008 games except the quarter final for which he was suspended, was due to fly into Merseyside for talks after Everton came in with an 11th-hour offer.

His agent, Pedro Pastor, told Estadio Deportivo: "We're going to take a new course of action and will go to the Premier League."
