Kaizer Chiefs 1 - Manchester United 1 - Goals

The Kaizer Chiefs gave United a scare in the opening match of the Vodacom Challenge at the Newlands stadium in Cape Town, taking a one nil lead from the penalty spot in the first half before Chris Eagles equalised for United in the second.

A 37th minute penalty from centre-back Jonathan Quartey gave the South African side the lead before United equalised in the second half.
